SCRAPBOOK CONTEST

 

The purpose of this contest is to choose the scrapbook which best presents the activities of a club and its members, both in the club and in the community. Scrapbooks are judged first at the district level.

The scrapbook shall be only one volume to include material beginning January 1st and ending December 31st. The winning scrapbook from each district should be sent to the State Chairman immediately following district convention. There will be no first place tie awards given at district or state level.

ARTISTIC APPEARANCE TOTAL POINTS
  1. Scrapbook is of a durable material with easily turned pages
  2. Scrapbook is neat, attractive, and a pleasing combination of entries, with artwork enhancing, not detracting from, telling the club's story. Originality and creativity is encouraged insofar as they create interest in the club's activities!

FORMAT  
  1. The name of the club, town, district, and dates are included on the cover along with the name of scrapbook chairman
  2. Club yearbook is included. Items are arranged chronologically. Newspaper articles and photos, snapshots, souvenirs showing club name, artwork, and favors are permitted. It is not necessary that the club be mentioned in articles which show members' community activities or other information regarding members.
  3. Snapshots are easily identifiable or written explanations are included
  4. A variety of articles on members is included showing their outside work and activities as well as club work
  5. Inclusion of an article about the club published in GFWC Clubwoman Magazine or Federation Speaks

The winning scrapbook from each district should be in the hands of the State Contest Chairman at least ten days prior to the State Convention. Ribbons and certificates will be given for the first, second, and third place winners. Scrapbooks must be picked up by the club at the close of convention.
